Do you ever find yourself longing for the ‘80s? Don’t you wish some of the more unique sounds would come back? If so, you’re in luck! Jane Lancaster and Edward Barton of “It’s a Fine Day” fame are back together for their first new album in almost forty years! Take a trip back in time with Jane’s unaging vocals and Edward’s classic poetry with Jane and Barton: Too.
This brand-new album blends electronica, acapellas, and soothing vocals to bring you an experience that is at once familiar and novel. Edward’s poetry and Jane’s unbelievable voice work together to explore the human condition with equal parts humor and tenderness. From the charmingly mundane to the excitingly spontaneous, these eleven songs will bring joy to any fans who have been longing for an encore.
Edward Barton has been busy since he and Jane last collaborated. He has had seven chart hits, played with Tears for Fears, and appeared as a guest on five different BBC Radio stations. All the while, he has never lost that humorous spark that makes his music so beloved. Jane Lancaster has been busy acting, teaching her fitness dance class Nia, and (of course) preparing for this album. She also spends time with her beloved dogs.
Too comes out August 6th, 2021, and is being produced by Cherry Red Records. Keep an eye out for the two advance focus tracks, “Shushy Time” — a darling lullaby — and “Hey! It’s the Twenty Twenties” — an upbeat song written from a hopeful future. Though the songs may be new, the sound is the same, picking up right where they left off in 1983.
